Hi, my name is Andrea, and my grandson Zavier was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called FOXG1. It is an extremely rare condition with only 1,500 known diagnosed patients worldwide.
So far, Zavier has experienced seizures, spasms, and difficulties with feedings. At this age, he should be sitting up on his own, holding toys, learning to walk, and starting to talk. Right now, he is unable to do those things. Children with this condition can face serious developmental challenges and may never be able to do any of these things on their own.
Our family wants to give Zavier the best care and quality of life possible. To do that, he will need ongoing medical support in both Canada and the United States.
The funds raised will help cover:
• Specialized medical equipment he will need for mobility and comfort
• Regular physical therapy that is not government funded
• Supportive therapies to help with his development
• A trip to the United States for a trial therapy program, including travel and accommodation costs
• Special consultations with doctors who have more experience with FOXG1, since there is limited knowledge about this condition in Canada
Access to experienced specialists and advanced treatment options is very important for Zavier’s future.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart in supporting my grandson Zavier and helping us give him every opportunity to thrive. Every donation and share truly makes a difference.
