Support Zarria's Journey to Randolph-Macon

Hello Family and Friends,

As many of you know, I am a proud member of the High School Graduating Class of 2025. I will be graduating as a four-year Honor Roll student, and I am excited to share that I will be continuing my education at Randolph-Macon College this fall as a Nursing major.

I am incredibly grateful to have been awarded the $30,000 Dean's Scholarship and an additional $5,250 from the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant. These blessings are a result of my hard work and dedication, and I couldn't be more thankful.

Initially, I planned to commute to and from campus. However, after visiting Randolph-Macon College, I completely fell in love with the campus and environment. I saw it as a perfect opportunity to broaden my horizons, branch out, and fully embrace the college experience.

Although I am truly happy with my decision, attending a private college like Randolph-Macon comes with higher tuition and fees than a state school. I will be receiving a Pell Grant and taking out student loans, but unfortunately, that still isn't enough to cover all of the costs associated with attending the college.

I know some may be thinking, "Maybe pick another option" or "Maybe this isn't the right path." But the truth is I know where I want to be and where I've wanted to belong. I have never been one to give up on my dreams. I believe that when there is a will, there is a way.

I chose this college because I didn't believe that I could get in. I applied last minute. I wasn't early decision or especially proactive. I didn't believe in myself enough. But a small voice inside me told me to try. I left it in God's hands, and here I am today, still reaching for my goals. If you could find it in the kindness of your hearts to reach with me and help me achieve these goals, it would mean a great deal to me. Any amount will be deeply appreciated and will go directly towards helping me achieve my goals.
