Support Zara's Recovery and Family Stability

Story

As most of yall know my niece has been in the hospital. She had a headache Monday, on Tuesday threw up went to the doctor and tested negative for Covid and strep. Wednesday morning when she got out of bed she lost complete control of her body was trembling uncontrollably and couldn’t walk. My sister rushed her to the ER while Jamaal stayed home with the baby. The hospital in Daytona diagnosed her with ataxia but not sure what caused it so they transported her to Orlando to the children’s hospital. Once there they got her straight to the ICU and did a spinal tap and ran every test known to man and came to the conclusion that what ever sickness she had caused an infection ataxia. She is currently doing a few rounds of steroids to speed up the process of healing but as of today she still isn’t walking. Physical therapy comes in and works with her but they are thinking she is going to have to do inpatient physical therapy. Her speech is still slurred and hasn’t gotten any better. Jamaal has no more sick or vacations days so starting Monday he either has to go back to work or stay with my sister and not get paid. As of right now we have no idea whether Zara will be able to come home or go to inpatient physical therapy. Or even when she gets to leave. They live a few hours away so we can’t be with my sister everyday unfortunately. She will need Jamaal there for her which means no work and no paycheck. I know money is tight for everyone these days but any bit will help with their household and car bills. We as their family are doing everything we can to help. My sister is the most unselfish person I know and would give the shirt off her back. They deserve to focus on Zara and not have to worry about whether Jamaal needs to go to work for a paycheck or stay and be with my sister and Zara.
