My name is Jamal,

I was born and raised in this beautiful island, Zanzibar.

Diving is a part of our culture here ; our fathers used to do the same as we do now - amazing acrobatic flips and funny poses mid-air; but before social media we had no ways to share this culture outside our country.

And now we can share this amazing sport with the world through multiple platforms.

Most of the guys who I dive with, including myself, don’t have jobs.

But the diving gives us something to look forward to and keeping us away from street life.

I hope great opportunities come through what we do.
