Support Zane Strait Race Cyclocross in Belgium

Hi, my name is Zane Strait and I've been racing cyclocross in Oregon for the past 6 years. I've been selected along with 5 other junior men and 4 junior women from around the country to race the Kerstperiode of cyclocross in Belgium for 2 weeks with Euro Cross Academy (ECA). ECA is a cycling program that holds summer cyclocross camps in Missoula and Vermont to get kids ready for the season ahead and races abroad. Racing in Europe, let alone cyclocross in Belgium, has been an everlasting goal of mine.

I am currently in high school where I am an honors student, and will be studying Mechanical Engineering in college next fall. Over the past 6 years of racing cyclocross, I've worked my way up through categories where I am now racing Cat 1. The next race I will be attending before Belgium is the Cyclocross National Championships in Louisville, Kentucky. I will be competing with my teams Cascadia Junior Cycling and Biciclista US.

The Kerstperiode of cyclocross, is 6 races over a two week period where I'll have the opportunity to race iconic venues like Zolder and Hulst. Kerstperiode translates to "Christ Period", because of its timing over the Christmas holiday. The 6 races are all in Belgium, which many elite level athletes that are home for the holidays will race with large local crowds.
