Hi, my name is Arianne, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my fiancé, Zak.
Since Zak’s first injury, his medical journey has been incredibly challenging. He has battled serious infections that led to sepsis and has undergone many surgeries, including the eventual amputation of his left leg, and a more recent hip surgery this year. These events have left Zak needing to use his power wheelchair more frequently, especially when leaving the house for long periods of time.
The new wheelchair accessible van and mobility upgrade would mean the world to Zak. This includes a wheelchair lift, hand controls, and full installation, providing him with a van that’s truly accessible and safe for everyday life. With this upgrade, he could get to appointments, run errands, spend time with friends and family, and just be part of everyday life without constantly worrying about accessibility. As the winter months approach, we’re feeling anxious to make this van mobility upgrade a reality. After six long years of being in and out of the hospital, Zak is ready to get back to work and his life. Having a van with a lift, hand controls, and proper installation would make that possible. Transportation would become so much easier and more manageable, letting Zak focus on living his life to the fullest again.
Zak has the cost of his new van sorted out. The lift, hand controls, and full installation cost $25,000, and this is where we need your help. Options for accessibility grants in the Yukon are very limited, and Zak has tried applying for out of territory grants with no success. This is truly our last option, and we are so grateful for any support. Every donation brings Zak closer to the independence he deserves, and your generosity will directly fund this mobility upgrade that can change his life.
Thank you to everyone donating, sharing, or supporting in any way. We appreciate it so, so, so much. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference in Zak’s life. Your kindness gives him the freedom and independence he’s been working so hard to get back.
