Support Zakiyah's Fashion Dream Launch

As-salamu alaikum (Peace be upon you).

I am Zakiyah Shaakir-Ansari for years I've wanted to start my own clothing line but with work and life just lifing, I kept pushing the can down the road. If I am really honest my insecurities were getting the best of me.

In 2023, I started the process by bringing together a group of about 10-15 supportive women that included my daughters to help me think through the process and brainstorm ideas. It was extremely helpful and it was an accountability measure for myself. I knew I had to follow through. Here we are a year and half later I can see it taking shape.

But I need your help.

I am planning to launch my clothing line, Designs By Zakiyah LLC the week of New York Fashion Week, in September 2024. Yes, that is less than 2 months away. I already got the ball rolling with a mother/daughter manufacturer who are creating the samples and patterns, as you read this and I don't want to lose momentum.

A Black, Muslim woman born into a legacy of Black creatives, whose children are Black creatives and now grandchildren are Black creatives.

I am excited to elevate the beauty of modest fashion, one that can be colorful, comfortable and chic. That can be worn anytime, day or night.
