Support Zain Cano’s Recovery and Relocation

My name is Jenna Carter and I’m starting this fundraiser on my and more importantly, my boyfriend Zain Cano’s behalf.
On the night of May 22nd, while I was at the store, a fire erupted in the living room of our duplex. With shock setting in, Zain ran outside to get help from the neighbors who had heard an explosion and had fortunately already called the fire department. Soon after getting out of the house relatively unscathed, Zain realized our dog Clarence was still inside and ran back in to get him. By this point, the house was engulfed. Fortunately, they both made it back out alive, but not without Zain withstanding third-degree burns to 40% of his body.
He’s had a hard road so far and a long one ahead of him in terms of healing, which leads me to the purpose of the GoFundMe. For the perceivable future, we do not have a home to go back to once he is out of the hospital, which should be soon. He’s going to need multiple weeks of continuous medical care and help from me (he has to use a walker and cannot use his hands), and we desperately need a stable environment for him to heal in.
We are asking for help so we can afford to relocate for a few months. Anything that’s able to be contributed will help immensely and go straight into finding an affordable, handicap-friendly place to stay to make this transition for Zain as painless and worry-free as possible. We’re not sure what our next steps are, but we know this is where we have to start.
