Support for Zaidyn's (Z) Battle: A Family’s Fight for Recovery

In just 12 days, my little brother, Zaidyn (Z), will turn 15. But right now, instead of celebrating with friends, he’s facing the biggest challenge of his young life. Just a few days ago, doctors discovered a large mass in his brain. Yesterday (03/07/25), Z underwent a six-hour surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. While the doctors successfully removed 95% of the mass in his brain, they discovered it has spread throughout his brain and spinal cord. The road ahead is uncertain, and we are now waiting on pathology results to determine the nature of this tumor. Regardless of the diagnosis, radiation and chemotherapy will be necessary as part of his recovery.

As his older brother, I’m reaching out to share our story and ask for your support during this incredibly challenging time. Our mother, Cathy, has always been our rock. But right now, she's in an impossible position. Cathy works two jobs — a 9-5 during the week and drives for Uber on nights and weekends — to provide for our family. However, with Z in the hospital, she has to be by his side as much as possible. She cannot work either job while caring for him, and we’re facing a mountain of medical bills along with the regular financial obligations that don’t pause for our situation.

Cathy, a single mother, has always done everything she could to provide for us, and while she hates asking for help, this is one of those times when we really need it. The funds raised here will help cover rent, car payments, utilities, their private medical insurance, and most importantly, the influx of medical expenses that will continue to accumulate as Z’s treatment progresses.

Your financial support will help keep us afloat as we navigate this tough road, but prayers are truly our number one need right now. Z is strong, and his fighting spirit is incredible, but we know that the power of prayer and community support is what will get us through.
