Zahra is a hardworking, kind, and caring daughter, sister, and friend. She’s the warm smile you see at her family’s Afghan food stand at the IX Park farmers market in Charlottesville — even while working two jobs and living with constant pain.

Zahra is facing an urgent medical situation. Her upper and lower jaws are severely misaligned, making it painful and difficult for her to chew or eat normally. She’s also lost several teeth and needs bone grafting and dental implants to restore her ability to eat and speak comfortably. Orthodontic treatment is also required to properly realign her bite.

These procedures are medically necessary but extremely costly — far beyond what Zahra can afford, even while working tirelessly to support herself and her family. Her pain is worsening, and she needs care soon to prevent lasting damage.
