A three time world boxing champion. A 1996 Olympian. A man who has spent his entire life standing strong for others. Now he is facing the toughest fight of his life.
Zahir underwent life altering brain surgery that required the removal of part of his skull, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. The physical toll has been enormous. The emotional toll even greater. For a man who lived in peak condition and pushed through adversity under championship lights, this battle has changed everything.
But if you know Zahir, you know his greatest strength has never been his fists.
It has always been his heart.
He trained kids who could not afford it.
He worked with veterans and their service dogs.
He helped rescue animals.
He gave his time freely to anyone who needed guidance, discipline, or belief.
As my coach and close friend, he pushed me to grow stronger when I wanted to quit. He trained my dog Luna with the same patience and care he shows everyone. He builds people up. That is who he is.
He has completed treatment. Now the fight is rebuilding.
Recovery, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical expenses are part of his daily reality. For someone who has always carried others, this is the moment we carry him.
If Zahir has ever stood in your corner, trained you, encouraged you, or impacted your life in any way, now is the time to stand in his.
Let’s show our champion he does not fight this battle alone.
