Support Zac's Battle Against Leukemia
Donation protected
Friends, family & everyone in between,
Zac is a 32 year old husband, brother, son, nephew, cousin and friend. Even more importantly, he is the best dad to his 1 year old son, Cole. He has been employed as a machine operator for Fredonia DPW (Dept of Public Works) for 10+ years.
Zac is the person you come to for a laugh, a hand, support, camaraderie, or just to lift something really, really heavy. Zac might be a big guy, but his heart is even bigger. He's the type of guy to give you the shirt off his back, if you ever were to need it.
Unfortunately, in April 2024, Zac was rushed to Brooks Memorial Hospital after what he thought was a long stint with the flu. He was quickly transferred to Roswell Cancer Center where he was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). This is an aggressive blood cancer that required immediate intervention.
Zac had an extensive stay inpatient, where he received chemo, bone biopsies and spinal taps for 4 weeks straight before being released home in time for his son's 1st birthday in May.
The treatment continued outpatient and were aggressive and intense. They required him to be at the hospital three days a week, along with giving himself daily at-home chemo injections. Zac pushed through this phase, but on June 2nd, suffered a grand mal seizure and ended up in the ICU for a week. Doctors believe the seizure was a side effect of his chemo drug. Ready to brave the next round of chemo, Zac had another seizure a week later and was again hospitalized at Roswell.
Zac is unable to work and therefore has no income, in addition to the medical and travel bills adding up and becoming a heavy burden on his young family.
We appreciate you taking the time to read about Zac. Its true what they say, “Cancer doesn't have a face until it’s yours or someone you love”. Zac’s diagnosis stunned our family and broke our hearts. However, we want to believe it also made us stronger & brought us closer together. In our family, no one fights alone. We can’t do it without our friends & community.
Please consider donating to help Zac and his family. Every donation, no matter the size, will significantly impact and be deeply appreciated. If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you please share this campaign with your network to help us reach as many people as possible.
Thank you for your love, support & kindness during this time.
