Two weeks ago my best friend Zack went into a normal Dr's appointment to figure out what was going on about a simple but lingering cough. From there he was quickly advised to go the urgent care where they discovered a mass on his lung.
After several tests last week he was given the diagnosis that he has Non-Hodgkin's B cell lymphoma.
This was of course devastating news to him, his family, close friends, old friends and everyone who knows Zack.
Zack is the perfect kind of friend. He cares about others more than himself, gives more than he takes and will always provide a helping hand if he can. He's the life of the party and usually always has a smile on his face or is trying to get you to have one on yours.
With Zack being my best friend we do a lot together play ball, hang out, watch whatever game is on but, we also work together. 6 months ago after 10 months of convincing, Zack finally listened to me and left his old job to come join me in a 100% commission sales role that I assured him he would be a good fit for. Zack is not average at anything he puts his mind to so, of course he has done well and conquered a very daring risk for most.
However this risk was assessed 6 months ago when he had no idea of the recent diagnosis.
So... 6 weeks before his 27th birthday, 6 months into a brand new performance based job I find myself regretting the recommendation that he join me. Mostly because of the situation he has to deal with now.
While having to fight the hardest disease on the planet Zack will also have to worry about putting food on the table, paying his mortgage, supporting his family, Paying for his health insurance, Paying for whatever new medical opportunities that'll be required just to be able to fight and eradicate himself of this monster.
I know if this were me Zack would do absolutely everything he could to help so, here I am trying to do the same to him.
Money and donations will not cure his cancer but they will alleviate the burden of financial uncertainty in this tough time.
$1, $5, $20 any thing that you are willing to support to help my brother would be greatly appreciated
