My brother Zachary Alfi is one of the most incredible humans I know, he is a man who brings light and joy to peoples lives and often is the first person to help another. Late evening this past Friday, during an icy rain storm Zach was on his way to pick up his wife Molly, from her work when he saw a car spin out on the highway and crash into a tree off the side. He immediately pulled over, got out of his car and ran to the person in the crash to make sure he was okay when he was then hit by another car who lost control on the highway and hit him. He was immediately rushed to the nearest trauma center and put into a medically induced coma.
He has been in the ICU suffering from a traumatic head injury, two broken scapulas, a broken rib, a minor internal bleeding injury, partially collapsed lungs and a broken fibula and tibia bone. He has already undergone one surgery for his leg and remains in ICU while they determine if another surgery is required. Despite his injuries, his strength remains an inspiration to us all as he has begun to make strides in his healing. The road ahead is one that is long and daunting for both him and his wife. He will be out of work for a considerable amount of time and his wife, Molly, will be out of work while he remains in the hospital and then longer once he can return home.
While we continue to focus on simply ensuring that Zach makes it through each day, I cannot help but worry for the financial burden of the loss of income that this journey will have, let alone the impact of the future possible medical bills for care and physical therapy. I am dedicating this Go Fund Me to raising awareness for this unbelievably selfless man who would stop at nothing to help someone in need. Today, he is the one in need. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward medical expenses, rehabilitation, food, and household bills. Your kindness will make a real difference for a family who truly deserves it. Thank you for considering a donation and for sharing this fundraiser with others who might want to help
