Support Zach's Battle Against Leukemia

Hey Everyone! My name is Ashley, and I created this GoFundMe for my best friend Brooke and her husband, as their 5-year-old son Zach fights cancer. They are the type of people who hate to ask for help but are always there to lend a helping hand to others.

In August 2024, during his very first week of kindergarten, Zach was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Zach has gone through so much testing and treatment since August, and every week his parents are taking him to Brenner’s Children Hospital here in North Carolina, sometimes multiple times a week. He has endured lumbar punctures, in-hospital chemo, oral chemo at home, bone marrow biopsies, and so much more. Obviously, along with all of this extensive treatment, hospital stays, and medications, this comes with a lot of medical bills. Many of which, Brooke has had to appeal with the insurance company due to them being denied (which is mind-boggling to me).

As of October 2024, due to his extensive treatment and amazing doctors, he is officially in remission, after not meeting remission at first! Although, his treatments and care must still continue for at least the next two years. Brooke and her husband both have full-time jobs, but due to Zach’s extensive treatment and care, they have had to take days off work to attend his appointments and hospital stays.

I created this GoFundMe due to the ongoing cost of Zach’s medical bills, and to help them financially - as they are going through something no parents should have to go through.
