Support Zachary's Journey to Gameheads Showcase
This photo is actually not of Zachary, but of me, Cat, from 2009 during a Day with the Devs event after my team and I released Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (thanks for the photo, Norm B). It's been more than 10 years since then, and these days I'm mentoring a young aspiring game developer from Hawaii through Gameheads (https://gameheadsoakland.org/about/).
Zachary reminds me of me, taking on many hats and committing to the team and the game's success, while staying humble, reflective, and positive. He and his team were inspired by the game Florence, and are developing a small game called I Fruit You (working title). I think it's important for Zachary, who is managing the team, to have as much presence and facetime as possible with peers and industry people, but it's difficult to do so living on the island.
I am raising $500 for Zachary to fly to Oakland to attend the Gameheads annual Summer Showcase (late August) so that he can come network and talk with other experienced game developers to prepare him for producing video games in the near future.
Please join me in supporting Zachary, a native Hawaiian, to come to the mainland and taking a step forward in this creative industry. Every little bit helps!
