I’m reaching out on behalf of two young adults very close to my heart—Zackary & Zenna Compton—who just lost their beloved dad, William “Billy” Ritcher, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Billy worked for some time at Northfield Public Works and proudly served as a volunteer firefighter in Somers Point “Engine Number 2.” He also delivered furniture for many years, helping families in need for a local thrift store. During Billy’s battle with cancer, even through chemo, he never complained—he’d come home from treatments and walk to pick up his best buddy Ziyon, his 5-year-old grandson, from school, always with a smile.

In his final months, he lived with his beloved daughter Zenna, surrounded by love and his grandkids: Zayden, Zayana, Ziyon, and iZaak, who will all miss him dearly.

When Zenna met with the funeral director, they found out Billy had no funeral or burial insurance. Now, on top of their grief, they’re faced with the full cost of giving him a proper goodbye.
