Hello everyone, my name is Brieanna Harper and I'm creating this GoFundMe for our now 8-month-old son, Zachariah. On March 24th, I gave birth to twins 6 weeks early, but by the grace of God, they were healthy, or so we were told. Within the week of the twins being delivered, the staff at the hospital I delivered at gave them COVID, which set off a chain of events for Zachariah. We received a call saying he had stopped breathing and they wanted permission to have him transported to Atlanta to be put on life support. We live in Evans (Augusta, GA), which is 3 hours away from the hospital he was being transferred to. I sent my fiancé to be with him in ICU while I stayed home with our other 3 children. Zachariah was put on forced ventilation and started caffeine to make his heart work harder. A week later, he was sent home with his twin sister. We had our first doctor visit and stated our concerns about his lips turning blue and purple, and he would turn pale. We were dismissed by his doctor. The next day, I had to call 911 for him in a parking lot because he was pale, not moving, and his lips were purple. He was then airlifted to Atlanta, and they told me he was unresponsive. After spending a week in the hospital ICU again, we were sent home, but this time with oxygen and a pulse ox machine that constantly alerts us that his oxygen has dropped to below 90. We also noticed that his heart rate has started to drop as well. We ended up back at the hospital a few more times, and now he has an NG tube and will be getting a helmet soon. Zachariah also has bone pushing forward in his forehead, as you can see in one of the pictures I provided. These pictures are at different visits over the last 6 months. He will also be having surgery on September 29th to repair a hernia that has caused swelling in his pelvic area.

I have been encouraged to create a GoFundMe by my mom and one of our pastors, to help us get closer to Arthur Blank Hospital and pay for his medical supplies and bills that insurance doesn't cover. For some odd reason, his Medicaid keeps getting cut off. I have had to reschedule a lot of Zachariah's appointments to ENT, cardiology, pulmonary, apnea, GI, therapy, and now he will have to be in Stockbridge every single week for his helmet. I have become his full-time caregiver while his dad is working non-stop trying to make sure he makes all of his appointments, but yet we still need help. I was very reluctant to create this but I'm trusting God. Thank you for any donations to help us figure out what's going on with our tiny miracle. Anything helps; nothing is too small.
