Hi, my name is Lauren Baxley. I am a friend of the Walker family. I am fundraising for their family in a desperate time of need. Zach Walker is a cherished law enforcement officer.

Unfortunately, on May 31, 2024, Zach was tragically struck head on by a drunk driver. Zach has made it his mission throughout his career with his law enforcement agency to keep the roads free of drunk drivers. What began as a final routine shift before a well-deserved promotional transfer, quickly spiraled into chaos when the suspect drove the wrong direction down Riverwatch Parkway.

In the aftermath of the collision, Zach was transported to Wellstar MCG Health with a concussion, broken elbow, broken right leg, and a shattered right ankle and foot. After an initial surgery and many more to come, he is looking forward to physical therapy so he can get back to a normal life.

As the community reels from this senseless act, thoughts and prayers pour out for his wife, Emilie and their 3 young children. Emilie will be unable to resume work (normal work schedule) right now as she is currently caring for Zach and their children. In response to this devastating event, a GoFundMe has been launched to provide financial support for meals, bills, and overall relief in this difficult time.
