Support Zach Kallenbach's Heart Surgery Recovery

My name is Hayley Henderson and my family has been very good friends with the sweet Kallenbach family for over 15 years. As many of you know, Zach recently and unexpectedly found out that he had an extremely leaky mitral valve in his heart. He had to be life flighted to Duke late last week where he was sent to the Cardiac ICU. He has been waiting to undergo a valve repair or replacement.

Multiple things were set in motion for Zach to have surgery, such as a catheter balloon pump in his heart, stable kidney function and days of having to remain immobile in a hospital bed. Multiple days later, Zach’s body was finally stable enough to undergo surgery and Wednesday was the day!

Surgery day was here, which meant one more step towards recovery! Zach had surgery, open heart style. He came out of surgery, having a valve replacement and is doing as well as can be expected.

This precious family has had their entire world turned upside down in a matter of days. Zach and his wife, Laurie and son, Caden (and two furbabies, Buckeye and Olive) are so thankful for all the support from everyone. Their family appreciates all the prayers and love that is being sent their way! This family has a long road to recovery ahead of them and every little bit will help them in a tremendous way! With hospital bills mounting, gas for driving back and forth to Duke everyday and all the inbetweens. All of the money donated will go straight to the Kallenbach family to help with their expenses. Any and all help is so greatly appreciated for our sweet friends!
