Dear friends, family, and art lovers,
My name is Cindy, and I am reaching out to share some incredible news about my daughter, Yvonne. For as long as she could hold a pencil, Yvonne has been driven by a passion for creating. Whether sketching in her room, painting, or designing, she has always used art to make sense of the world, especially to relate to others, maintain her 4.21 GPA, and cope with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
That dedication and talent have led to a dream-come-true moment: Yvonne has been accepted into Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of the Arts!
This isn't just any art school—VCU is consistently ranked as the number one public university school of art and design in the nation. This program is the perfect place for her to turn her raw talent into a lifelong career in art.
The Dream vs. The Reality
While we are overjoyed, we are also facing the daunting reality of tuition costs, especially as I was laid off in 2025. Despite her hard work, scholarships, and our own savings, there is a significant financial gap to bridge. As a parent, I want to do everything I can to help her take this next step, but I cannot do it alone.
We are turning to our community to help send a talented, deserving young artist to the school where she belongs.
How You Can Help
We are looking to raise $180,000 to help cover tuition, art supplies, and materials for her upcoming 4 years at VCU. Your contribution will go directly toward her education.
$25 helps buy specialized supplies and materials.
$50 helps fund her room and board.
$100 helps pay for textbooks and tuition.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this story with your network would mean the world to us.
Yvonne has the vision, the talent, and the drive; now she just needs the opportunity. Please consider helping her make her mark at VCU.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity!
With gratitude,
Cindy & Yvonne
