Friends, I am reaching out to ask for help for a genuine friend of over 16 years, Yvonne.
A profuse thank you goes to those who have donated and shared this journey so far. Together, the community is moving gradually toward an initial $8,000 goal, yet the struggle for Yvonne is far from over. Every single dollar brings her closer to paying for the authorized QDRO preparer, Susan, who will draft the critical legal documents needed to secure Yvonne's fair share and finally enforce the court order.
Yvonne is a senior citizen living in Georgia who has spent nearly 7 exhausting years trying to receive what is rightfully hers in an Arizona divorce case. Back in January 2020, her divorce decree officially awarded her a share of her former husband's retirement benefits. The court ordered that financial disclosures, including pension information, be provided. However, that order has never been honored. Instead, repeated delays and continued defiance have taken a severe emotional and financial toll.
Today, Yvonne is facing a heart-wrenching financial crisis. She receives only $1,747.00 monthly, a fixed income that is swallowed up instantly by survival needs. A staggering $1,060.00 goes strictly to rent, while the remaining fraction is stretched to cover household bills, medical needs, and a little food. This leaves her with a monthly balance of $10 or less, forcing her to desperately reach out for help whenever any unexpected expense arises.
To make matters worse, Yvonne depends on punctual spousal support payments of $600 a month. When those payments are delayed, her bills bounce, and the stress deepens. Now, the urgency has reached a breaking point: there is a devastating new proposal to deny her even that spousal support.
With another critical court hearing scheduled for November 3, 2026, she faces mounting expenses for document preparation, legal assistance, and court fees. She is not asking for anything beyond what the law already awarded her. Yvonne simply wants the dignity, stability, and justice that have been denied to her for years.
Where your donation goes ($8,000 Total Initial Goal):
• $1,500: Authorized QDRO preparer (Susan) to secure Yvonne's retirement share.
• $3,600: Four months of rent stability.
• $1,000: Food and groceries.
• $700: Medical needs and prescriptions.
• $600: Essential household bills.
• $600: Legal preparedness.
