The entire Little Monster Films family and Everest: The Other Side production team is devastated to hear about the passing of Yukta Gurung. Yukta was a celebrated Nepali mountaineer and a vital part of our team on multiple expeditions to the North Side of Everest over the last several years. His courage, skill, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege to climb alongside him. Yukta summited Everest with Jim Morrison, Jimmy Chin, and the rest of our team last October, and his contributions to our expeditions were invaluable.

Tragically, Yukta was lost in an avalanche on Broad Peak, leaving behind his family in Nepal. He was the sole source of support for his loved ones, including his son. The loss is not only felt by our team, but by his family who now face an uncertain future. Our team and the entire production are doing everything we can to support Yukta's loved ones in this difficult time, and as part of that effort, we've come together to set up this fund to help ensure that Yukta's family is provided for in the wake of this tragedy, and that his son has the opportunity to pursue his education and dreams.
