Support Ysidro’s Final Journey with Love and Care

Dear friends and family,

We’re writing with heavy hearts to share the story of my beloved father Ysidro, who is now entering hospice care after a sudden diagnosis of Laryngeal Cancer.

My father went into the hospital for difficulty breathing, and it was later discovered that he has a large mass in his throat. He has faced it head-on with strength, humor, and high spirits—just like he approached everything in life. After undergoing a procedure to receive a trachea to help him breathe, it was determined he was not a good candidate to have a feeding (PEG) tube put in due to injuries sustained from an accident he was in in 1978. Unfortunately, due to his current weight, surgery, chemo, and radiation are not an option, and the focus has shifted to keeping him comfortable in his final days.

If you know my dad, you know he’s the kind of person who lights up a room—always talking, joking, and making people laugh. His love for life and for his family is immeasurable. He is a devoted husband to his wife Rachel, and a proud father to his children: Manuel, Joe, Ysidro III, Janie, and I.

The emotional toll has been overwhelming, and so has the financial one. Medical bills, hospice care, and end-of-life expenses are more than our family can manage alone.
