Forty-four years ago, my mother and I opened our art gallery in Rockport, Massachusetts. We have a unique art product—colorful, whimsical, and positive. The public loved us, and we loved the public, creating our whimsical prints and products.
When Hilda passed away twelve years ago, the business continued on. I remained committed to producing both her beloved primitive artwork and new art of my own, keeping her spirit and our vision alive. For many years after her passing, the gallery continued to thrive with steady, loyal support.
A couple of years ago, things slowed down, and I am now faced with the winter season. As a small family business, the colder months bring fewer tourists, which means significantly less income. Last year’s earnings were down 45%.
Roughly six months ago, I suffered a severe leg injury which has forced me to miss two months of my busiest season, and I most likely will be having back surgery soon. The injury and possible surgery have made matters worse for the business and its financial stability. I love what I do, and the public loves me. I need to continue, and with your help, I can continue.
The funds would help with the winter season, supplies, and employees, and ensure our beloved gallery survives through this difficult period.
Thank you,
Lauri
