Support Young Victim of West Fest Stabbing

Help us put an end to violence at community events such as West Fest.

Hi, my name is Ruby, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support. On Saturday, June 14th, during West Fest in West Valley, my 12-year-old brother was stabbed in a senseless act of violence. He was simply enjoying a community event. Instead, our lives were shattered in an instant. What happened to him wasn’t just physically devastating it left deep emotional wounds. No child should ever have to endure something so traumatic. My brother is full of life. He’s funny, kind, and always trying to make others smile. He’s respectful, playful, and focused on what matters most at his age being a kid. He didn’t go looking for trouble, violence found him. Since that night, we’ve been doing everything we can to support his recovery. But the road ahead is long and difficult. He’ll need ongoing medical care, trauma therapy, and legal support as we fight for justice and help him begin to heal. We’ve started this fundraiser to help cover the overwhelming costs of his recovery, medical expenses, mental health counseling, and legal support and advocacy. We’re asking for help from anyone who can contribute. Even a small donation can lift a piece of the burden from our family. And if you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this campaign every share helps raise awareness and brings us closer to healing and justice. We’re heartbroken and frustrated. We believe that if my brother’s case had received the attention it deserved, the tragic shooting that occurred the very next day might have been prevented. Greater awareness might have meant more caution, more security and maybe, a different outcome. Our community deserves better. Children deserve to feel safe. Families deserve to know that if something happens to their loved one, it won’t be ignored. We’re speaking out because no other family should have to go through this. My brother matters.
