Support Young Survivors Escaping Abuse from Murad Muhammad

My name is Apostle Don Coleman, and I pastor The Upper Room Church in the DMV.

I’m raising funds on behalf of a group of courageous young men and women who are escaping a dangerous and abusive ministry. Over 27 individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 have come forward with detailed testimonies of sexual molestation, spiritual manipulation, and emotional abuse—many of which took place under the leadership of Murad X (full name withheld for legal reasons).

This is not gossip. This is criminal. The FBI is now involved, police reports have been filed, and national voices like Shane Winnings have publicly exposed what has taken place. More survivors are coming forward each week.

These individuals trusted a ministry that betrayed them. Many of them are now stepping away with nothing—no home, no money, and no safety net. So far, 5 survivors have made it out safely, but many more are still trying to leave. I am working closely with them to provide shelter, counseling, and basic care—but we need your help. Also some that have already left need therapy and inner healing.

Emergency housing and shelter

Food, hygiene supplies, and basic clothing

Christian trauma counseling and support

Transportation and relocation costs

Ongoing care as they rebuild their lives

These survivors are not leaving because of offense—they’re leaving to survive. This is about justice. This is about protecting future victims. This is about restoring dignity and hope to people who were deeply wounded by someone they trusted.
