Strive IA is an alternative provision based in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire. We are four passionate professionals with lived experience who want to make a lifelong difference to children in crisis in our community.
Strive IA provides an alternative education for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who find accessing a traditional school environment challenging. Our young people come to us with school-related trauma and are mostly chronically disengaged with education and learning. We know first-hand that there is a significant lack of appropriate support for young people with SEND nationwide. We believe that accessing an alternative provision such as ours can transform young lives.
We work by providing bespoke programmes for primary, secondary, and post-16-aged young people. Our programmes aim to inspire confidence and self-belief by supporting the development of social skills, resilience and independence. We also aim to improve physical and mental health and overall well-being by creating an environment that makes them feel safe and empowered. This leads to positive re-engagement and a fresh opportunity to learn valuable, interest-led life skills.
You would genuinely support a new and life-changing project for our young people and their families. We are looking for support in building our resources to offer the best opportunities for the children attending our provision.
This ranges from a short-term target of £10,000, which includes:
• a minibus
• iPads
• sensory and learning resources
To a longer-term target of £25,000, which includes:
• a container workshop space so we can offer car/ bike mechanics & construction qualifications
• resources to fully equip the workshop
• setting up a NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) programme for young people aged 16+
