I'm Sophie Weir, from Oregon and I’m raising funds to help my friend, 20-year-old Mohammed support his family and survive day-to-day life as he waits to rebuild his future. Since the end of the ceasefire, the cost of living has become extremely high. Mohammed is the main provider for his family, helping his mother take care of his three younger siblings. They recently lost their father. They have survived several displacements and are now struggling to survive in the midst of a famine.

The funds raised will be used to purchase food and essential supplies to sustain daily life in Palestine. With no humanitarian aid entering, the cost of basic necessities has increased drastically:

• A bag of flour costs between 500 -700 USD

• Laundry soap costs between 50 -60 USD

• Shampoo costs between 50 -80 USD

• One apple costs 15 USD

• One tent costs between1,500 - 5,000 USD

• Displacement to a new “safe zone” costs between500 - $1,000 USD

Hello, I’m Mohammed from Palestine. I am only 20 years old, and I’ve lost my home and my job. I live with my mother and my three younger brothers. I used to work in a supermarket and save money to support my family. Before the war, I had dreams and a job, but sadly, all of that has been shattered because of this war. Your help and donation mean so much to my family and me during this time.

Unfortunately, the future I had planned for has been completely destroyed. I’ve been displaced several times during this war. I was first displaced from Palestine to Nuseirat camp, then to Rafah, then to Deir al-Balah (Eastern region), and now to this unfamiliar area we are currently in. Sadly, we are living in tents, and life has become extremely difficult and unbearably expensive. I kindly ask you to help me by donating to help save my family from the horrors of this war.
