Help Us Protect Wolves: Youth Field Project in Yellowstone

Out W.E.S.T is excited to send three middle school students on a life-changing journey to Yellowstone National Park this February. These students, all from underrepresented POC backgrounds, will have the unique opportunity to work alongside Taylor Rabe, a wolf biologist and conservationist with the Yellowstone Wolf Project. Taylor, a POC woman herself, serves as an inspiring role model, showing our students that they too can pursue careers in field science and conservation—fields where diversity is still rare.

This experience is about more than just seeing wolves in the wild. Our students will learn firsthand about environmental stewardship, wildlife research, and the importance of representation in science. By participating in fieldwork and learning directly from Taylor, they’ll gain skills and confidence that will shape their academic and career paths for years to come.

We’re raising funds to cover lodging, transportation, outdoor gear, and food for the trip. Every contribution helps break down barriers and opens doors for these young scientists. With your support, we can ensure these students have everything they need to make the most of this incredible opportunity and inspire others in their community to dream big.
