Support Young Athlete Andrew's Journey

Hi, my name is Alex Vazquez. Thank you for checking out my GoFundMe page.

I am blessed with a loving wife Yvonne and two healthy and beautiful children, my daughter Janelle and my son Andrew. This campaign is about my son Andrew because he must have been a professional fútbol player in a former life. He came out kicking and never stopped chasing the ball. His passion and joy for the game, whether at home in our soccer lab or on the pitch with his friends, literally knows no bounds. But what makes Andrew truly special, and why I am reaching out to you for help, is not to support his soccer talent but also to amplify his love for the game and others. Andrew is always looking out for everyone else and he his gift is to lift people up through soccer. Sometimes his coaches get frustrated because he will not take the shot on goal himself because he would rather assist and let his friends get the glory of a goal. Recently, he was recognized at a school-wide assembly after a teacher observed him playing soccer with a kid that did not have any friends. Andrew not only got him playing soccer at school but he was feeding him crosses so he could get some goals and positive spotlight. His teacher said "if I could have 25 Andrews, I would take 25 Andrews!"

I believe as Andrew grows and elevates his game, he is destined to elevate all of those around him. It sounds crazy when I tell my friends, even though Andrew is only 6 years old, but our family has decided to turn our lives upside down to nurture his development - we only get one shot to get it right when we raise our kids. I have down shifted my career path so that I can be available and present for my kids to take them to soccer practices and tournaments.

Despite these moves, elite soccer is still a financial struggle for us. As you all know, in the U.S., the better you are and the higher level you play, the more expensive it becomes. This is why I am reaching out for your support. Andrew was selected for his A team at Surf Del Mar, considered by some to be the best club in the U.S. - but let's not start that argument here, it's only to say that I am not the only one who appreciates Andrew's talent. Club fees alone are $3K/year so we are hoping to raise $5K / year to cover those fees and all of the other expenses for travel and equipment. Anything you can offer, even if it's just a follow on Instagram, is humbling and greatly appreciated.
