My sweet, silly, loving baby Yoshi was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma this past summer, in July. This type of cancer in felines originates in their lungs and attacks their digits; but for Yoshi, his chest X-rays continued to come out clear, so the doctors were hopeful this was a rare tumor isolated in his toe. He underwent surgery to have the toe removed that had the tumor in it and successfully removed the whole tumor with clear margins. This type of cancer in cats, though, is very aggressive and very likely to return. The past two weeks, Yoshi was showing a lot of discomfort in the same paw, and we were told last week that his cancer has spread and is now attacking his paw.
His chest X-rays continue to come out clear, so for the doctors and I to make the best decision on next steps, they need a CT scan to see more clearly. This test is very expensive, and with everything I’ve already spent on the first amputation, pain medications, antibiotics, vet visits, and emergency visits, I need all the help I can get. Depending on the findings of the CT scan, Yoshi may need a full leg amputation or medical care until it’s his time, which both will be costly as well.
Yoshi is my first baby. I need to make sure whatever time he has left, he’s happy, healthy, and in minimal pain.
No donation is too small. If you can’t donate, I ask that you please share. I’m grateful for any and all help! Thank you!
