We are incredibly proud to share that our children have advanced to the National History Day Competition at the University of Maryland this June! After months of hard work, research, creativity, and dedication, both our Exhibit group and Performance group earned the honor of advancing to the national level. Not only will they be representing their school and Yonkers Public Schools, but they will also be representing New York State on the national stage.
As parents, we are coming together to help support the students attending, as well as the parents who will be traveling alongside them to help chaperone, supervise, and support the students throughout this incredible experience. While some student expenses may be assisted, many of the travel-related costs for parent chaperones—including transportation, lodging, meals, and other trip expenses—are out of pocket. We are volunteering our time to help ensure the students are safe, supported, and able to fully participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Because we are unable to share fundraising efforts through school social media pages, we are reaching out personally through our own networks and communities for support. Any donation, no matter the amount, would mean so much to our students and families as they prepare to represent our community and New York State at the National History Day Competition. Thank you for supporting our children, their hard work, and this unforgettable educational opportunity.
