Sweet Stanley has been a foster cat in our program patiently waiting for his forever home for over a year. Last week Stanley developed some unexpected inappetence and lethargy, and upon evaluation at UC Davis we discovered he had a life threateningly low level of red blood cells in his system. Stanley has required two blood transfusions and an array of diagnostic testing to help determine the cause of his disease. At this time, Stanley is being treated for infectious, as well as primary, causes of immune mediated destruction of his red blood cells, platelets and white blood cells. In the last 24 hours Stan has shown positive improvements including a reduction in his fever, maintaining his red blood cell counts and an increase in his appetite. We want to give Stanley the best possible chance at recovery so he can eventually know what it is to be adopted, but we need help funding his care. Any contribution towards his hospitalization is greatly appreciated and circulating his fundraiser is also deeply helpful!
Thank you for helping us save Stanley!
