Support Yolanda's Family After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
I am raising funds for my sister and her family who lost everything to the Bronx building fire on Jan 10, 2025.
Yolanda and her family were awakened in the middle of the night to screams of “fire.” She rushed to her door of her 6th-floor apartment to see her neighbor standing in her apartment. If you know Yolanda, she went to help. However, as she approached the apartment, she could see flames erupting from the light switch, then the fuse box. The flames quickly spread up the walls to the ceiling. Yolanda ran to her apartment, told her family to get out, they all put on their coats, and fled the building. The flames had engulfed the entire 6th floor. They made it out just in time to stand in the freezing cold and watch everything they built go up in flames. God spared her life. Things can be replaced over time, is what we know.
Nonetheless, Yolanda and her family lived at 2910 Wallace Avenue for 25 years. The heartbreak of losing memories, baby photos, momentous treasures, and important documents leaves an indelible impression.
Six months ago, we thought her resolve was being tested when her job laid her off after 27 years of faithful service. We watched her go through the sadness of the loss. God knows best. We all know Yolanda; she got up and just said, “I will be ok.” At 58 years old, she has to start looking for a new job.
The fire on January 10, 2025, took the last of what she had, her home!
Please, if you can donate, I thank you in advance.
