Hi this is yoko!
We brought Yoko to the vet on July 5th after noticing that she wasn't eating and had jaundice yellowing in her eyes. We discovered that her bilirubin and blood values were extremely high, which means her liver cannot function properly. We have done bile duct testing, x-rays, an ultrasound, and months of different antibiotics to figure out what was wrong with her, but we still don't have a clear diagnosis of why her liver is failing.
This long process has now led us to the even more invasive and expensive option of a liver biopsy, which will cost around $7,000. Of course, we want to go through the procedure to figure out exactly what is going on with her, but unfortunately, we are uncertain of how we can pay for the biopsy or the following treatments after she is diagnosed. We have reached the limit for Yoko's pet insurance policy and already spent thousands on our credit cards for over 12 vet and internal specialist appointments.
We love Yoko more than anything and she truly is the best thing that has ever happened to us. Yoko is not only our dog but also a crucial part of our family, our lives, our everything. Everyone who meets Yoko understands that she is one of the sweetest, loyal dogs. She has made an impact in so many of our lives.
This is why we intend to do anything to keep her healthy and alive. This is why we also are asking you to please consider donating toward her biopsy and following treatment. No donation is too small as you will be helping save her life. We will be incredibly thankful forever.
