Soccer has always been more than a game for us. It is a lifeline, a beacon of hope, and a powerful tool for change for the girls in Madagascar. Unfortunately, girls’ soccer in Madagascar remains deeply underdeveloped, and many young girls continue to face significant daily challenges. According to data from UN Women, over 33% of women in Madagascar experience gender-based violence, and only around 38% of girls complete secondary education. These realities continue to limit opportunities and silence many dreams before they have the chance to grow.

My name is Nya Rafali, and in 2019, I founded YFOMAC with a dream close to my heart: to give girls in Madagascar the opportunity to play football, to grow, and to believe in themselves. I grew up playing soccer mostly with boys, and I know firsthand how limited opportunities are for girls in our context. YFOMAC is more than a football school to me; it is a space where girls are empowered to break barriers, rewrite their stories, and rise above their circumstances with courage and hope. Every time they step onto the field, they are not just playing a game—they are claiming their right to dream, to be seen, and to build a future.

YFOMAC is a family-run association founded out of pure passion and commitment. We create safe spaces where girls can play football freely, become confident, and prepare to face the world with strength. Beyond technical training, we focus on resilience, self-belief, and ambition. Through football, our players learn to stand strong, challenge societal norms, and imagine a future beyond the limitations around them.

Madagascar is one of the poorest countries in the world, where opportunities remain limited and international exposure is rare. For most of our girls, football represents one of the only paths to travel, to compete internationally, and to open doors to new possibilities.

Our goal is to help these girls dream bigger, reach higher, and grow stronger both on and off the pitch, because their potential extends far beyond football. We want them to understand that their dreams—whether in sport, education, or life—are valid and achievable.

In 2026, YFOMAC will proudly participate in the **Norway Cup**, one of the largest youth football tournaments in the world. This competition brings together teams from dozens of countries every year and offers young players a unique opportunity to compete at an international level, experience cultural exchange, and grow both on and off the field.

Since YFOMAC operates primarily through family dedication and community support, we rely on the generosity of partners and supporters to make this journey possible.

By contributing to our campaign, you are not only helping cover essential travel needs—you are investing in the future of these courageous young girls. You are helping write stories of resilience, opportunity, and hope. Together, we can give them the chance to grow, to compete beyond borders, and to dream without limits.

Please join us in this journey. Your support truly changes lives.
