On what was to be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for our niece Yesenia to Portugal, it has turned into an unexpected medical emergency. On Wednesday, June 10th, her parents were notified that she was attempting to return home after falling ill, but she didn't make it onto the plane. She was rushed to the hospital from the airport in Portugal. She is currently in the ICU, where doctors are still running tests to find out what is the cause of her symptoms. She has been in the hospital now for about a week, afraid and without her parents, incurring additional expenses with her hospital stay.

She is there without any family, and we want to make it possible to help her parents travel to her to be by her side until she is able to come back home and to also have the means to pay the unexpected medical expenses now, and as she continues to recover.
