My name is Ben and for the last 5 years I have shared my life with Yennefer, my dog. Since November, she's incurred several hefty veterinary bills in an attempt to heal recurrent infected draining tracts on the side of her chest. Her veterinarian doesn't know the initial cause of her issue or why it hasn't responded to treatment yet, but they are confident with further treatment Yen will heal and never see this issue again. However, the next step in her treatment is a surgical procedure under general anesthesia. Our veterinarian has quoted us up to $2,500 which I cannot afford on my own.
I am a veterinary student in the middle of my education. Our demanding curriculum doesn't leave much room to work, and most of my expenses to live are paid for with student loans. I've already put over $1,500 towards Yen's care for this issue alone since November.
Any and all help is welcome. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns. No one should feel any guilt for not being in a position to help; obviously, I am in no position to help others myself right now. After I graduate and begin working as a veterinarian, I will absolutely pay forward all of the help I've received.
