Support Yemen's Journey to UWC-USA

Hello!
My name is Yemen Krichen. I am a 17-year-old current student in the pioneer high school of Sakiet Ezzit Sfax, from Tunisia. and I was recently accepted to the Armand Hammer United World College of the American West (UWC-USA), one of the most prestigious institutions worldwide!
For the past seven years, I have been an active member of the First Skills Club association, where I developed a passion for 3D modeling, Python programming, and even quantum computing and more! I later evolved from mentee to coach, mentoring young students and encouraging their creativity and innovation. Last year, I co-founded Microsoft Tech Club LPSE at my high school and facilitated a free robotics club at a nearby elementary school, where children created award-winning projects. I also had freelancing experiences through photography and graphic design and the honor of participating in numerous national and international competitions. I won the DAAD STEP Green Economy Hackathon in 2023, was a RISE finalist, and received a full scholarship to the African Leadership Academy’s Global Scholars Program. I was also an official member of Tunisia’s national team for the FIRST Global Challenge 2024, contributing to earning multiple international awards and showcasing a good image of Tunisia abroad.
UWC selection is a very competitive process with a less than 3% acceptance rate, and though I thankfully managed to get into UWC-USA with a 98% scholarship, the amount I still have to pay after subtracting my family’s contribution is around $8000 in total for the two years for remaining tuition costs, airfare, health insurance and visa fees…
As someone who is highly committed to STEM and eager to help my community, I see UWC as a life changing experience and a stepping stone, not only for myself, but for the impact I hope to make in my country and beyond. I am asking for your help to cover the remaining costs and make this journey possible. I really count on your support. Thank you!
