Description: My name is Yashica Nelms and I am a Navy veteran. Over the past few years, I have faced significant health challenges, including seven strokes and two bypass surgeries on my brain. As a result of these strokes, I now live with aphasia, which makes communication difficult, but I do my best to share my story and reach out for support.
Recently, I was approved for a specialized rehab program at the VA that could make a big difference in my recovery. However, this opportunity comes with a challenge: I have to stop working in my comprehensive work therapy program, which means I will lose a vital source of income. While I am able to cover most of my bills, there are still some household and living expenses that I simply cannot manage on my own during this time.
I am reaching out to ask for your help as I prepare for another brain surgery and begin this important rehab journey. Any support you can offer, no matter how small, will go directly toward my essential expenses and help me focus on healing. I am deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering my fundraiser.
