Our family is coming together in support of one of our own, Yaira Hernandez.

Yaira, who is just 20 years old, has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This has been an overwhelming and unexpected chapter for her and our family as a whole.

Those who have the privilege of knowing Yaira personally know how infectious her laugh is and how funny she is. She is sweet, caring and deeply empathetic. Yaira is extremely dedicated to her studies and very self-disciplined. And throughout this difficult time of fear and uncertainty, she continues to say amen as she leans on the hope of a miracle from God.

MS is a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system and has impacted her daily life and mobility. Her parents have been by her side through this process but as full-time Pastors, insurance is limited. Pastors Frankie Hernandez and Ester Menendez, who have been in ministry from a very young age, have impacted lives worldwide and now they face a battle that they shouldn’t have to manage alone.

Between doctor’s visits, treatments, testing, and ongoing care, they’re looking at an out of pocket estimate of 200k a year in medical costs (each infusion alone costing $35,000).

Our goal is this: We are hoping to fully relieve that financial weight from her parents and herself so she can focus on her health without the fear of lacking due to finances. We want to ensure that she gets the care, treatments, and support that she needs during this trying time.

Yaira, de tan solo 20 años, ha sido diagnosticada con esclerosis múltiple (EM). Este ha sido un capítulo abrumador e inesperado para ella y para toda nuestra familia.

Quienes tienen el privilegio de conocer personalmente a Yaira saben lo contagiosa que es su risa y lo divertida que es. Es dulce, cariñosa y profundamente empática. Yaira es sumamente dedicada a sus estudios y muy disciplinada. Y durante este difícil momento de miedo e incertidumbre, sigue diciendo amén, apoyándose en la esperanza de un milagro de Dios.

La EM es una enfermedad crónica que afecta el sistema nervioso central y ha impactado su vida diaria y su movilidad. Sus padres la han acompañado durante este proceso, pero como pastores de tiempo completo, el seguro médico es limitado.
