A highly respected Tanzanian botanist, Yahya has worked across the country, recording plants and biodiversity in places that remain poorly known and contributing knowledge that has supported science, conservation, and education for generations. His work represents a remarkable personal contribution to Tanzania’s natural heritage and to the people who study, teach, and protect it.

We are raising funds to support Yahya's upcoming knee surgery, which will allow him to return to the rigorous demands of botanical surveying.
