Blessed love. My name is Nakachi, and I am one of YahnaiJah’s many aunts and one of NiQueen’s many sisters. I created this fundraiser to support NiQueen and YahnaiJah during a critical time when they need immediate community care and financial support.

For as long as we have known her, NiQueen has been a pillar for all of us, an unwavering cheerleader, a voice of wisdom, a brilliant teacher, and a trusted arts administrator and writer. She is the one who shows up, again and again, for others.

Now, we have an opportunity to show up for her and her family in the same way.
*******

My 26 year old daughter, YahnaiJah, is currently in a medical crisis due to severe rheumatoid arthritis, with no ability to work as she fights to regain her independence.

My name is NiQueen, and I am raising support for my daughter, a brilliant, creative, and resilient young woman whose life has been drastically changed by this chronic autoimmune condition.

In December 2025, everything shifted. She was suddenly hospitalized with septic arthritis, a severe and life threatening complication. What followed was a long and difficult stay in a rehabilitation center where she had to relearn how to walk, eat, and complete basic daily tasks.

She is still in that crisis. She is currently undergoing aggressive medical treatment to manage her condition, which takes a toll on her body and energy each day.

Today, she lives with intense daily pain. She is often unable to get out of bed and now relies on a wheelchair and walker for mobility. Even standing long enough to cook or clean can be overwhelming. The independence she once had has been deeply impacted, but her spirit, creativity, and brilliance remain.

YahnaiJah is a creative with her whole life ahead of her. She is deeply imaginative and determined to return to a life where she can fully express herself again.

As a family and community, we are leaning into collective care during this time. So many of you have poured into her over the years as teachers, mentors, peers, supporters, aunties, and uncles. We are asking that same community to hold her now as she moves through this critical stage of her healing.

We have set a goal of $25,000 to support her healing, stability, and quality of life over the next year. This includes:

Medical and recovery support, including care from a specialized functional medicine doctor

Estimated: $4,500

Holistic healing therapies such as massage, acupuncture, and herbal support

Estimated: $3,000

Anti inflammatory nutrition and supplements

Estimated: $2,500

Dental care that has been delayed and is now urgent

Estimated: $2,500

Mobility and accessibility support, including an electric wheelchair and adaptive shoes and clothing

Estimated: $4,000

Moving costs, storage, and securing a stable and accessible living environment

Estimated: $5,000

Basic living expenses such as rent, utilities, transportation, and daily needs, as she has not been able to work since this illness began

Estimated: $3,500

This effort will make a meaningful difference in her well being over the next year. She is currently at a critical stage in her condition, between stage 2 and stage 3, and what happens during this time matters deeply for her long term health and mobility.

She has not been able to work since this illness began, and disability support can take up to a year to begin. During this gap, she is without income while facing increasing medical and daily living needs.

This is an urgent moment in her healing journey. With the right support, care, and resources, she has a real chance to stabilize, regain strength, and move toward a more independent and fulfilling life.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will directly support her healing, dignity, and quality of life.

If you would rather not donate here, you can also send support directly via Cash App/Venmo as well as purchasing items directly from her wishlist:

Cash App: $NiQueen

Venmo: @NiQueen777

Sharing this page with your community also makes a real difference and is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for seeing her, supporting her, and standing with us during this time.
