Yaeng Luangsiyotha is a dedicated farmer living in Kahuku, on the North Shore of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi. Recently, her life was turned upside down by the devastating Kona Low Storm. As the storm raged, Yaeng was trapped inside her home for three days, listening to the relentless wind and rain. When she was finally able to step outside, she found her farm completely flooded. Water covered everything, and the damage was overwhelming.
Yaeng’s farm is her livelihood. She grows okra, banana, papaya, and tomatoes, providing fresh produce for her community. The floodwaters destroyed her crops and washed away 10-15 bags of fertilizer. The soil has been so badly damaged that she won’t be able to plant anything for at least two months. This loss has left her without an income and facing the daunting task of rebuilding from scratch.
The funds raised through this GoFundMe will provide immediate support for Yaeng. Any support from the community will make a huge difference as Yaeng works to rebuild her life and her farm. Your kindness and generosity will help her get back on her feet after this disaster.
