Support Yaa Sedekubea's Journey to Okomfo Graduation
Agoo Agoo Agoo,
Peace to everyone who has taken the time to read my story. You may know me as Troi but my Akan name is Yaa Sedekubea, and in April 2025 i will be completing my wonderful 4 year journey graduating as an Okomfo, a priestess in the Akan tradition. This path has not only been about personal growth but also about deepening my connection with my roots and embracing the responsibilities that come with this sacred role.
Over the past 4 years i have immersed myself in the richness of Akan Culture, learning the language, mastering the traditional dances and reciting praises that carry the weight of centuries. It has been a transformative period where each step taught me not only about my ancestors but also myself. As training draws to a close, the time has come to step up and prepare for my graduation, a big milestone that marks the beggining of my service to the community. Graduating as an Okomfo means i am ready to give back, to support and to lead within our community—a significant milestone that marks the beginning of my service to the community.
I am reaching out not just for financial support but also for communal engagement. Providing items such as florida Water, cloths, and other items are also deeply appreciated. If you wish to contribute in this way, please reach out to me directly.
Even if you're not able to contribute financially, sharing this campaign within your networks can make a huge difference.
The support, encouragement, and warmth from family members, fellow Akan community members, and friends have been my pillars. Although the path has been demanding, your belief in my purpose energizes me to move forward. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, supporting, and believing in my journey!
