Ximena has faced an incredibly challenging year, marked by repeated hospital visits, a serious car accident, and a difficult diagnosis. Earlier this year, she was hospitalized multiple times for severe abdominal pain and fatigue, which forced her to take weeks off work. In June, Ximena was involved in a hit-and-run accident that totaled her car, leaving her with injuries and the loss of essential work supplies and tools she had to replace because the driver was never found. Despite these setbacks, she continued to push through, even as her pain returned and made daily life unpredictable and exhausting.

After more testing, Ximena was diagnosed with endometriosis, a chronic condition that causes tissue similar to the uterine lining to grow outside the uterus. This led to surgery to remove a large cyst, and doctors discovered endometriosis affecting several organs. Recovery from surgery will take weeks, and ongoing treatment is needed to manage her symptoms. There is no cure for endometriosis, and Ximena will continue to face complications from the disease. The pain, fatigue, and frequent hospital visits have made it difficult for Ximena to work consistently and cover her medical and living expenses.

While I don’t know Ximena well personally, I do know the impact she’s had on my life. Ximena cleans my home, and her work has brought me peace, reduced my anxiety, and helped my family in ways that go beyond cleaning. She is reliable, humble, and truly cares about helping others.
