On October 23 2024, my life changed forever. I left my children in the care of a man I trusted, someone who had looked after them before, while I went to work. Not even an hour later, I received a call every parent dreads: my eight-month-old son was unresponsive, barely breathing. I rushed home to find my precious baby struggling for life. EMS arrived and rushed us to the hospital, where doctors confirmed a severe brain bleed. He was transferred to Detroit Children’s Hospital, where surgeons had to remove part of his skull to manage the swelling in his brain. For days, he lay in the Pediatric ICU, sedated and on a ventilator. Every moment was filled with terror and heartbreak. As we searched for answers, the truth unraveled. this attack was no accident.
