Friends and Family,
Our amazing, feisty son Xavian (18 YO) experienced a seizure on Friday, September 25, 2026. It all started while he was on the phone with his girlfriend, who quickly got help to him. He had a cluster of seizures about 15 minutes after checking in to the ER. He was quickly sedated, and they did a CT scan and found a large abnormality in his brain. They had him life flighted to IHC Trauma Center in Murray, and he was in the ICU for about 48 hours, with the first 24 in critical condition. The abnormality in his brain is called a developmental venous anomaly, or DVA. They ruled out every other possibility and believe that the seizure was caused by this abnormality. He was born with it. Normally, they are benign, with no symptoms. Of those symptomatic cases, only 4% experienced seizures. There is no cure for the DVA. The prognosis is that Xavian will be on anti-seizure medication for the rest of his life. We need some help getting him a seizure dog ASAP, a medical bed for safety, and paying the medical bills for the next year as we figure this out. We don’t have a lot of information and have no idea if or when he will have another seizure, but we would like to be ready when it comes so he is not alone. He has a huge family, and we will band together to ensure that Xavian has the life he was supposed to have when we dreamed of bringing him into this world. Please help if you can. Thank you.
