My name is Xander and I am once again on medical leave from my job for a work injury. I don't know what happened this time, but my foot is messed up and I am waiting on the workman's comp payments and don't know when that will come through, and rent and bills are coming fast.
I'm turning on a fundraiser I'd previously run last November and turned off, where I'd raised about $1200 from generous friends and family members to assist me in scrambling together enough for rent and food, and it got me through. I am hopeful it can happen again. I'm leaving the $2000 goal, but here's the breakdown:
I have about $450 in my bank account at this moment. I don't know what my paycheck will be tomorrow, as I didn't work my full 64 hours, I think it was about 58? And I don't think my boss coded me to be able to receive the 6 hours lost from my PTO bank, so my paycheck will likely be like $100 short. Rent is coming, and that will be about $1250. I have about $300 in bills, and between my wife and I for food, we usually spend like $300-400 in food. If my paycheck is about $1000, plus the $450, I'm falling at least about $400 short until my next paycheck on the 8th.
I really hope I'm not out of work as long as I was last time, and that workman's comp comes through to make up this week's lost time, but I likely won't see it for like a month, and I'm sweating.
If anyone is able to help, please know it is appreciated deeply.
